Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs by Judi Barrett
Fantasy, Picture Book
Summary- A grandfather tells his grandchildren about a faraway town called Chewandswallow. In this town the residents don't need to buy food because it all came from the sky. It would rain soup, snow mashed potatoes and even storm hamburgers. One day things got bad and the food amount that came down was way too much. Eventually everyone decided to move their location and used stale bread and peanut butter to make rafts and they sailed to another land where it was normal and they had to buy their own meals.
Very creative and humorous story. You could talk about nutrition with the student's or even about weather!
