Summary- The settlers in the book face hard times. John Smith who is the captain returns to England to get more food and supplies and without his leadership people go crazy. They start stealing, some help neighbors who are sick and starving. 9 year old Lizzie has a mother and sister who get sick and she asks Pocahontas for help.
